Chatting with Hasser

xbox video conference, originally uploaded by littlelostrobot.

E stayed up way past her bedtime the other night, and she didn't plan on sleeping anytime soon. Not as long as "Uncle Hasser" (which he dubbed himself in a 2008 Halloween card) was on the Xbox video chat. It's the best webcam around.

She had a fun time waving and blowing kisses at the funny man on the screen. And then we moved the camera around the living room (it has a long cord) so that Hasser could see all of her tricks.

Baby bot has a tummy ache

The baby bot has had a tummy ache (and other stuff) all weekend. So she's gonna stay home today. In spite of being sick, Eliza's in a very happy mood. Right now she's sitting on the floor reading books aloud. But she's been taking lots of cuddle breaks. She crawls over to mom and says "up, up!" which loosely translates to "pick me up and cuddle me, already!".

Now that Eliza's getting bigger some of the cute robot stuff people sent us finally fits - like this robot onesie. E's wearing matching robot slipper socks that you can't see in this picture. Although she seems to enjoy playing with them more than wearing them.

Playing with Daddy

Eliza sure likes playing with her Daddy. These two are really silly.

Back home

The girls made it back to Houston today. We had a great time visiting friends and family in Portland. Thanks everyone!
Eliza was a perfect girl on the plane. She slept almost the whole time and didn't cry a bit. As usual, she made some new friends. She enjoyed sharing her crackers with her neighbors as well as smiling and waving at everyone who walked by to use the bathroom.
After a busy few days, it's bedtime. Eliza had a bath, got some jammies on and for once brushed her teeth without crying.

She'd rather walk...

Except she's too scared to do it by herself. We went shopping downtown. Eliza ditched the stroller and walked. She held hands with Grammy and Auntie Karey. It took about ten times longer to get to the end of the block. But it sure was cute.

Breakfast with Ellen

We had another action packed day in PDX. Eliza got to meet another one of mommy's old friends. We had breakfast with Ellen. We had a good time catching up over biscuits and gravy. Hopefully next time Eliza will get to have a play date with Cash!

E's met her fashion match

Look. Someone else who likes wearing hats! Natalie is a real fashionista. She even has her own big girl purse. After this photo, Natalie paraded around the house in a pair of grown-up heels. Check out the flickr page for the full photo set.

New pals

Last time E saw Natalie they were too little to play. Today they had a great time getting to know each other better.

Cousins Unite

The cousins had a meet up at Patti and Will's house. Natalie and Eliza had a fun time running/crawling around with each other. And baby Bella was really sweet. She spent most of the afternoon doing baby stuff like eating and sleeping.
Aside from being cousins, the girls share something else special. They were all born on the 2nd. Bella on January 2nd. Eliza on December 2nd. And Natalie on May 2nd.

Lookie who we ran into

We picked up Jake from work tonight and went out for dinner. We had the good fortune of running into an old pal. Randy was happy to see us as he hadn't met Eliza yet. But Randy was also excited about the chance to make the blog. So we obliged him with a photo. Eliza enjoyed a fancy dinner of mac 'n cheese and applesauce. Quite a day.

Cheers to the birthday girl

Happy Birthday Charlotte! Thanks for inviting us to your birthday party.

Juice wars

The girls all got along really well. Except when it came to the sippy cups. Charlotte ultimately won the juice war. Lila and Eliza did not stand a chance. Charlotte ran around snatching everyone's cups. Don't let that sweet smile fool you.

BFF's, originally uploaded by littlelostrobot.

Hmmm...this photo reminds me of a previous photo. The two little ladies were reunited for Charlotte's first birthday party. This was before the action really got going. More party photos to come...

Caught blue handed

Although we've been here less than twelve hours, it's already been a whirlwind of discovery.
Grammy stocked the fridge with good stuff for our visit. She introduced blueberries to Eliza. This morning Eliza ate a whole bowl full of blueberries and strawberries. As you can probably tell from this photo, she was not interested in sharing.
P.S. Grammy has been assigned diaper duty for the rest of the day.

Just like old times

The girls are in Portland this weekend. After a long flight, Eliza sure was excited to see Grammy Lew. Even though it was late, E got to play with Grammy's toys and read one of their favorite books "Grandma and Me".

As you can see, Scout got into the action, too. Eliza's gotten really good at saying "dog". Our neighbors have dogs. When she sees or hears them she says "dog". She's having a good time chasing Scout around the house.

Baby cooking in the kitchen

When Daddy went to get Eliza at daycare last night she didn't even realize he was there. She was focused on the imaginary meal that she was whipping up in the play kitchen.

Tired little lady

Eliza had such a fun time ripping Tupperware out of the cabinet that she just had to take a nap right away afterwards - even if it was smack dab in the middle of the kitchen floor.

Sunday smiles

Just went to an outdoor antique market. E was a very good girl. She was rewarded with ice cream. Now she's being cute and silly in her car seat.

Another day of shopping

Daddy and baby found more matching hats. While it was a good photo op, these got a definitive NO from mom.

Mommy and Eliza in the BabyHut

Eliza needed a place to sneak away to during all the Superbowl festivities, so we set-up her baby hut on a prime piece of real estate: the hallway.

What is this weird contraption?

We plopped E in this Winne The Poo arcade ride at the factory outlet mall. She didn't know what to think of it. Seemed kinda tame, even for a toddler.

E's passport photo

E's passport photo, originally uploaded by littlelostrobot.

The passport photographer captured a wide range of emotions from Eliza while trying to snap her pic. We ended up just going with the standard "mug shot" before she had a meltdown in the CVS.

It looks sorta dreadful, just like everyone else's passport and DMV photos. Get used to it kid! Next time Daddy is bringing his big camera out for her updated photo in a few years.

Eliza posing for a passport pic

We're planning some sort of exotic vacation for later this year, so we realized that we needed to get our future world traveler a passort ASAP. As you might imagine, it's not easy to get Eliza to sit still for a photo that's very specifically formatted like this, but we finally ended up getting a decent shot.
