Eliza and Daddy sharing a toast to the New Year.
scary lizard!
Eliza loved checking out all the creatures at the aquarium that were always safely behind thick glass. But when she got to the lizards and snakes, she really got squeamish (and screaming).
Eliza in Progresso!
We're still decompressing from our cruise and holiday vacation, but here's a fun shot of Eliza taken in Progresso, Mexico at the outdoor market. More photos on the way!
playing with stingrays and sharks

Eliza had a blast at the Houston Aquarium this morning. Fearlessly, she stuck her hand into the "touching tank" to grab a starfish and a horsehoe crab. She also loved climbing into the stingray tube, and checking out what it was like to hang out underwater.
Daddy's Girl
Eliza wanted to help Daddy set up the Blue Ray player we bought for
Christmas for ourselves (yeah, finally). She was his little shadow
tonight. Not sure how much she helped, but it was cute.
Eliza loves her Springfield family!
Here's an impromptu family portrait we took while touring the fish hatchery outside of Springfield at the end of November.
yucky duckies!
Eliza didn't know what to think of all these waterfowl that ganged up on the little kids, hoping to get some scraps of bread. After that, E just watched from a safe distance.
Thanksgiving at LuLew's!
Stay tuned! We're gonna have fun updates from our vacation (and new stuff) all week long.
Happy Birthday, to E!
Happy Birthday, to E!, originally uploaded by littlelostrobot.
We just got back from an adventurous trip to Oregon for Thanksgiving. Now that we're recovering from jet lag, food poisoning, allergies, colds, and coming off a sugar high, it's time to start posting some videos and photos. Starting with this timely piece of video...
Here's a quick clip from E's birthday party, held by Grandpa and Grandma when we went to Springfield. She's loving all the attention, and her Dora cake!

Lazy Sunday
Eliza is enjoying reading her favorite section of the Sunday newspaper.

Playing with Aunt "Keh-Wee"
Eliza had a really fun time hanging out with her special buddy, Karey. They went to "Disney on Ice", the Nutcracker Market, a holiday tree lighting, and lots of fancy restaurants. But E's favorite place to hang out...is whatever room Karey is in at the time.
Eliza the popcorn fiend
She shares this passion with her Daddy. Those two really love the popcorn. Eliza has been getting quite possessive with the tub, trying to block everyone from getting their share - luckily, she has tiny hands.
Rocket Doggie!
We got Houston Rockets tickets for Halloween night, so not only did Eliza go in her precious doggie costume, but she was still sporting her Yao Ming jersey (just like Daddy and her always wear).
She woke up from her nap and was rushed into this costume ten minutes before we had to leave, but soon woke up and had a blast. She cheerfully wore her costume until the 4th quarter of the game, and then decided that she had enough of the doggie hat.
Chasing after Mommy on Halloween
Eliza had an eventful Halloween! It all began with a trip to the park for her friend Avery's birthday party - where she ran around in her fairy costume and had a fun time. Her favorite part s were chasing Mommy around on the grass and eating cake.
Daycare dress-up day!
Although in Texas, this is still a regular day outfit for some folks.

Little Witchy Woman
Eliza is getting into the Halloween spirit already. She won't take her witchy hat off at all.

October Oregon Visit '09
We really packed a lot of fun into such a short trip! There were far too many photos to post to the blog, so here they are in a slideshow!
ring around the rosie

Eliza had the time of her life playing with her buddy Charlotte and her cousins Bella and Natalie. Here they are doing some "Ring Around the Rosie"...or as E likes to call it "ashes, ashes...DOWN!"
Hanging with the Grandparents!
Eliza had a fun day at the zoo with "Damma" and "Dampa", especially when she got out of her stroller and got to do some serious jumping!
Hello, Miss Sheep.
Eliza wanted out of her stroller all day, but when she was placed in front of this mysterious beast, she was just fine with a little distance.
Eliza's loves the swing

We finally got E to sit in the swing without freaking out, and as soon as she got going, she had a blast!
Eliza goes to school!
Eliza had a fun morning on the first day of our Oregon trip, visiting Grammy Lew's school. She got to meet all the fun teachers and staff, and check out what it's like to be a big kid. [see more photos!]
shopping cart speedster!
shopping cart speedster!, originally uploaded by littlelostrobot.
It's hard shopping with this kid when she's got her own shopping cart. We thought it'd be a fun distraction for her, but ended up distracting us - and all the other shoppers - as we chased her all over the store.
baby's BBQ feast
We went to one of E's favorite restaurants today, Pappas BBQ. Eliza had her own bowl of Mac-N-Cheese, but she also ate all sorts of yummy stuff off Mommy and Daddy's plates.
Queen of the living room!
Eliza got into the Halloween spirit this weekend, running around the house in this adorable fairy costume that Grammy Lew sent her. She spent a lot of time twirling around in front of the mirror, pointing at her reflection and shouting "Dora!"
Expect to see some photos of this fairy princess out in "the wild", and get ready for some cute pics from another face-melting cute costume.
an Eliza masterpiece!
We have a mini Jackson Pollack here! She does similar crayon art on our walls at home now. This peice will be auctioned at Sotherbees later this month.
Eliza's rainbow art
Here's a scan of one of the interesting pieces of art that E makes during her fun, activity-filled mornings at daycare. Doesn't that just brighten up your day?
(We think she had some help with this one.)
fairy princess caught on camera
Daddy has long suspected that there must be a little fairy that sneaks in and puts grubby fingerprints on his laptop screen - and now he has photographic evidence!
Chillin' with Mommy
This weekend marked our second time at the Bayou Arts Festival since we moved here just over a year ago. But it also marked "first" as well: the first time it's ever been cold here in Houston. And to be fair, it was probably just in the 70's, but we've become accustomed to the high 80's to mid 90's every day so it was sort of a shock.
Eliza had fun listening to mariachi music and trying out all the various ethnic festival foods (Baclava was a big hit).
Princess of the Playground
Eliza had a little flu bug on Friday, but by the end of the weekend on Sunday she was running (and dancing) all over the place - especially the playground by our house.
Helping out in the kitchen!
Eliza loves following Mommy around wherever she goes, especially when she's in the kitchen. So tonight Mommy put E to work! (Which was mostly holding non-essential cooking utensils).
Eliza also spent a great deal of time just looking through the cookbook, screaming at various food photos.
Mid-morning rest in middle of floor?
Not sure what's going on here. Eliza put her blankie on the living room floor and then laid down.
Side note - as you can see, she's dressed only in pull-ups and socks. Part of our potty training rountine to let her run around in diaper at home so she can go potty easily. This morning E's also been wearing her sunglasses which makes for quite a sassy outfit.

the great airport meet-up!
While dropping of LuLew at the airport - after a weekend of fun in the Texas sun - we took the opportunity to have a brief meet-up with cousin Michelle and baby Isabella, who were on a brief layover in Houston (and coincidentally flying back to PDX on the same plane as LuLew). The babies had a fun time hanging out together, but both got a little stressed out when the mommies held each other's kids.
Head, Shoulder, Knees, Toes
Head, Shoulder, Knees, Toes, originally uploaded by littlelostrobot.
Eliza is getting pretty good at this "Head, Shoulder, Knees, and Toes" dance. Kinda makes sense, considering she plays it over and over again.
Flying high with Mommy
Mommy and Eliza took to the air this afternoon, riding the Red Baron ride. They reached a maximum cruising altitude of seven feet, and had very little turbulence to worry about.
Fun at the Kemah Boardwalk
We had a terrific weekend showing off the Houston area to our good friends John and Janelle - who each flew in from different places to visit us, and hang out with Miss Eliza.

Eliza loves to read her books, but sometimes she needs a little exercise break. (Daddy was on the phone in the background, totally missing out on this funny moment - glad Mommy is quick with the flipcam)
Still hungry
Eliza ate a whole bowl full of lasagna for dinner, but was still hungry. So she had a Blackberry for dessert.

Even little girls love shoes
We now have a series of photos capturing Eliza trying on shoes - hers, ours, whatever's available.
This photo gives you an idea of what our mornings are like. As we try to get ready for work, Eliza runs around like a wildcat trying on shoes, throwing stuff in the toilet and screaming at the TV. She's only stops to eat or drink her "ilk" as she calls it.
