Eliza is laughing like crazy!, originally uploaded by littlelostrobot.
I have no idea what Grammy Lew was doing, but she sure got Eliza to laugh like crazy.

Eliza has been a great little traveler. After her first visit to the ocean, she visited Myrtle Beach's "Broadway at the Beach." The girls got there around dusk so E was exposed to the carnival atmosphere of lights and music. (She was also fascinated by the crazy, disgusting fish as her mommy and daddy were back in April We broke from the crowds and ducked into a crab-themed store. Sure enough we found the perfect hat for a photo. E even thought it was funny.
Finally I have video proof that Eliza is saying "Dada!" - We weren't sure a few weeks ago that when she was saying "dada" that it wasn't just gibberish. But now we know she understands...she'll look at Daddy and start saying "dada!" (We've already started the training on "Mama" - stay tuned.)
Eliza is doing all kinds of new things this weekend, and one of them is waving back when you wave "hello" at her. It's more like swatting out "hello" but it's still really cute.
Eliza loves to kick, especially with her jingly socks on! We're not sure how well the downstairs neighbor is getting used to it, but I'm sure Eliza will only have to flash a smile and all will be forgiven.
Eliza is rolling over all the time, but she isn't quite ready to begin crawling yet. So she's getting into shape by doing non-stop baby push-ups - which is far more push-ups that either Mommy or Daddy can do.
Now that Eliza is getting quite a substantial, little afro going, we're able to put her in some really cute headbands. Here's a look at today's fashion princess.
We just got a hand-me-down baby playset this afternoon and Eliza has been going nuts with it. She looks at herself in the mirror while banging on all kinds of buttons that activate flashing lights and creepy children's music.
Here's a shot of Eliza watching Daddy with disapproval as he takes photos of other things (toy robots) besides her. Doesn't he know that she's the star of the show?
We have informally started feeding Eliza when we sit down for dinner, and she sits nearby in her high chair grunting and making weird noises. It was actually two new things in this photo: the chair, and Guava baby food - both of which went over well.
While trying to coax some words out of Eliza, she surprised us with another trick instead...rolling over! She does it all the time now. She'll be crawling before we know it.
Eliza doesn't really have a full-on laugh just yet, but Mommy is working to bringing it out of her. She's also starting to make sounds that sound like words, she's even actually saying "Blah, blah, blah.."...and something that sounds like "daddy".
Eliza had a fun time hanging out with her surrogate Greenville grandparents, Joan and Don Lovelace. (I think they had a fun time too!)
One final look at Eliza's afternoon in the pool. This was taken moments before we took her out of the water. She was exhausted from all her swimming and kicking, but just didn't want to get out - she was having a great time floating there.
We ditched the floating duck, and let Eliza just float safely on her back with Daddy keeping a good grip on her.. She really loves to kick in the water and talk a lot of cute gibberish while she does it.
Under careful supervision, Eliza got the hang of safely navigating her inflatable ducky around the shallow end of the pool. Daddy was never more than a few feet away, and with her constant kicking, Eliza was able to close in on him pretty quickly.
Eliza got into her swim diapers and little baby scuba outfit, and headed out to the pool out back. We had the place all to ourselves, which was good because she was very chatty. Mommy, Daddy and Grammy all kept close watch on our little water baby as she thrashed around in the water.
Eliza is decked out in her lovely red, white, and blue outfit - ready to enjoy her first Independence Day holiday. There's more cute pics of her in the dress in her Flickr photo set.
Eliza has just discovered the magical substance that comes out of the shiny metal things near her Bumbo chair. She could play in that water all day!
